Fixing Font Errors

True Type, OpenType and CID Fonts

While TrueType, OpenType and CID fonts are great fonts to use when designing your artwork, not all publications can support these. This especially refers to when the final file is printed and the printer's system does not recognise the font type which will cause issues.

Any issues with the font type are flagged in the pre-flight report as the following errors:

  • TrueType font used. TrueType fonts are not supported by this publisher
  • Glyph width info in PDF does not match width info in embedded font
  • Character refences .notdef glyph
  • Text uses CID font
  • Text uses OpenType font
