TABLE OF CONTENTS

Uploading your Advert

1. Search for the publication you require in the search bar on the home page or in the search bar at the top of the page.

2. Find the size you require, and click on Send Ad

3. Fill in the required fields, as indicated by the blue mark. The required sections may vary for different media owners.

Advertiser - the company being advertised

Headline - the headline/title of the advert

Insertion date/Issue - the date the advert will be published. If the publication has a set Issue Schedule, you can select the issue from the dropdown box

Special Instructions - any special requirements, such as the order of the advert, whether it is going in a particular supplement, the positioning of the advert on the page

4. Click Choose File at the bottom of the page, choose the artwork you want to send, and then click Upload. Your advert will then be pre-flighted against the publisher's specifications.

5. You will be taken to the My Ad Deliveries page, where you can see the status of your advert on the right.

6. Click on the bar to access the Specle Report Page, where you can view the pre-flight report, generate a visualiser report, download the final file, and more.

7. Click Help to send a help request to Specle Support Team. Click Discard to delete this job. Click Start Again to replace your current file with a different file.

Previewing your Advert

The soft preview attempts to show the most accurate representation of your advert, in accordance with the colour profile of the publication you are supplying to.

1. Click on Soft Preview on your Specle Send Report page to view your soft preview.

2. Ensure you are using the latest versions of Safari or Chrome. You can test whether your browser supports colour profiles here: http://cameratico.com/tools/web-browser-color-management-test/

For the most accurate result, your monitor should be calibrated using a device. We recommend the X-Rite i1 Display or the Datacolor Spyder.

Fixing a failed Advert

If your ad fails the preflight check, you will need to amend the file before it can be delivered. Click on Review Errors to see a summary of the errors. Click on Soft Preview and Visualizer Report to get further information on your file. To find out how to correct preflight errors, please see our Identifying Errors section.

  • For further instructions on how to fix errors, click Help to send a help request to the Support Team.
  • Once you have amended your file, click on Start Again on the Specle Send Report page to replace your artwork.
  • Alternatively, click on Fix It For Me to have a Specle Operator fix your file at a cost of £35+VAT. You should allow up to two hours for a fix-up to be completed. You will receive an email once the ad has been released back to you for approval.
  • Once your advert has been cleared of errors, you must click on Approve and Send to deliver the ad to the publisher.

Ensuring that your advert is delivered

Once you click on Approve and Send, you will be prompted for payment details (unless you are sending to a publisher-paid publication). If no pop-up appears when you click on Approve and Send, please ensure that your browser is up-to-date and that you do not have an ad-blocker enabled.

After filling in the details, you will be taken to a page that says Please wait - payment processing. If the payment page does not refresh, please go back to the My Ad Deliveries page and click on the relevant job.

If the Specle Send Report says Payment Failed, go to My Settings to view the card that is attached to your account. If your card has expired, please delete it and add a new card. Then click Approve and Send again.

If the Specle Send Report says Payment Processing it means that you have clicked Approve and Send, but not proceeded with filling in the payment details in the pop-up. Please click on Approve and Send again to continue.

Once the ad says Delivered it means that the publisher has received it.

Replacing/Sub Copying your advert

You can only replace (sub-copy) an ad if the insertion date has not passed. You will be charged again for the preflight and delivery of new artwork.

To do this, click on the relevant ad under the My Ad Deliveries tab and then click on the Replace button. From there, confirm the insertion date of your ad, and upload your new file. Click I'd like to review the job's details to change any ad information, and then click the Replace button.

You will be taken to the My Ad Deliveries page, where you can see the status of your ad on the right. Click on the job to go to the Specle Send Report page, and click Approve and Send to deliver it to the publishers. The publisher will be notified that your previous ad has been replaced.

Repeating your advert

To repeat your advert, either click on the relevant ad under the My Ad Deliveries tab or click the Repeat or Replace button on the My Ad Deliveries tab to search for the ad. Click on the job you want to repeat, and click the Repeat button.

Click I'd like to review the job's details to change any ad information. If you tick Deliver this ad immediately, your file will be automatically delivered. If you do not tick this, you can click on Approve and Send by going to the My Ad Deliveries tab and clicking on the job.
